Yesterday, tragedy struck in the most heartbreaking way.

A fire tore through Jack’s restaurant — a place that was more than just a business. It was his dream, his livelihood, and a space filled with years of memories, stories, and irreplaceable memorabilia. In a matter of hours, it was all gone.

But this story is not only about loss.

It is also about a community that stood together. His amazing staff showed up. Neighbours, lifelong friends, and even strangers came to support, to comfort, and to remind Jack that he is not alone.

I have known Jack since he was a little boy. He will be turning 22 next month. Life has not been easy on him. He lost his mother at a young age, and just last year, he lost his father too. Despite everything, he kept going. He worked hard. He built something meaningful.

And now, he is faced with starting over again.

He had to save on expenses to continue his dad's legacy, and the financial burden is overwhelming. What was lost cannot simply be replaced.
