A Home Built on Love and Resilience Since 1970, the Avril Elizabeth Home has been more than just a facility—it is a sanctuary. Named after a bright, bubbly girl whose life was cut short by illness, we have spent five decades ensuring that every person with intellectual and physical disabilities, from toddlers of 3 to seniors, finds a place of "love, light, and laughter."

Today, 154 residents call AEH home. They rely on us for 24-hour care, physiotherapy, and a stimulating environment. But lately, our ability to provide that care has been threatened by something beyond our control.

The Challenge: When the Taps Run Dry

In our area, the municipal water supply and power grid have become increasingly unstable. For a home with 154 residents who require constant hygiene care, laundry services, and medical support, water is not a luxury—it is a lifeline.

When the power goes out, our borehole and pressure pumps stop. Without them, we cannot move water to where it’s needed most....
