My baby was born on April 13, 2024, with several serious medical conditions. He was born without one ear, has a cleft lip and palate, heart defects, colobomas in both eyes, a very small chin, and an extremely small rectum.
Since birth, he has undergone numerous procedures: a colostomy, his first heart surgery to insert a shunt, and a tracheotomy. The doctors wanted to place a PEG tube for feeding, but his stomach is not in the correct position.
The genetics team initially suspected cat eye syndrome or Patau syndrome, but tests came back negative. Although he does not have a chromosomal syndrome, further testing is needed to determine his condition.
The additional tests, which are sent to the USA, cost $2000.
Our family would deeply appreciate any help to cover the cost of these vital blood tests. Once we have the results, we can hopefully bring our baby home, as he has been in the hospital since birth.
