Stand With Britz Family: Help Chris Fight Cancer

Our journey began with a freak accident on 10 June 2024.

Chris, our “Dadda”, fell off a ladder and suffered severe injuries, including multiple skull fractures, a concussion, and injuries to his shoulder, ribs, pelvis, and other bones.

My sister, Joline, found him on the cold floor, barely moving, terrified we might lose him. She got him into the car, rushed him to hospital, and prayed the whole way.

After surgery, we thought the worst was behind us. 

Then the doctor called.

They had seen something on his pancreas.

That call changed our lives forever.

Our dad was diagnosed with Stage 2 pancreatic cancer. If it hadn’t been for the accident and the scans that followed, we may never have known. We were devastated, but as our dad always says: a Britz never gives up.

I called hospitals across South Africa trying to find the right specialist. We were incredibly blessed to find Dr Stefan Hofmeyr, who moved quickly and put my dad on an aggressive treatment plan to shrink the tumour so it could be removed.
