Hi, I am Stephen Stainbank, Chairman of Stranraer House, a registered NPO in Durban, South Africa which provides a home away from home for elderly women in need.
I will be competing in a Ironman traithlon in beautiful Durban on 4 June 2023 to raise funds towards this worthy cause. This will entail a 1,9km ocean swim, a 90km cycle and a 21km run.
In 2022 myself along with a new board of trustees as well as a new management team inherited a large overdue utilities bill of R350 000. To date we have managed to raise and pay R263500 towards this debt and I am now trying to raise funds to pay it off.
We have implemented many money saving measures and we even had a R355 000 solar sysem donated to us by a very generous donor. We have plans to have a borehole installed which will assist with our goals in reducing our monthly costs even further.
