Stronger than Cancer

My name is Nompumelelo Mathibela. For nearly 20 years, I have known Irvine Mushunje as a deeply loyal, selfless, and supportive friend.

Today, his family urgently needs our collective strength.

Irvine’s 13-year-old son is bravely fighting a rare brain cancer called adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma. While his first tumour removal surgery was successful, recent scans show the cancer has begun to grow again.

The first operation cost over R1 million—a monumental sum that Irvine and his wife managed to raise through sheer determination.

Now, they face the agonizing reality of needing to raise another R1 million in less than two months. This is for a specialized, life-saving proton beam surgery available in fewer than seven countries worldwide. They will need to travel to India or China for the procedure.
