Our little boy, Darius, came into this world much earlier than we ever expected.
On 25 February 2026, at just 31 weeks, Darius was born following a medical emergency. Instead of the peaceful start to parenthood we had imagined, our little boy had to spend his first 12 days in the ICU, where we faced the fear and uncertainty that comes with having a premature baby.
Those 12 days were some of the most difficult days we have ever experienced. Every day brought new worries, but Darius continued to show us just how strong our little fighter could be.
Today, we are incredibly grateful that Darius is home with us. He is now 6 months old, weighs 5.9 kg, and continues to amaze us with his strength, beautiful smiles and progress.
Our little fighter has since been diagnosed with Hereditary Spherocytosis, an inherited blood disorder that affects his red blood cells. Because of this condition, Darius requires ongoing specialist care, regular monitoring and treatment, in...
