In 2018, my life changed when I was hospitalized with a viral infection. During that time, doctors discovered my kidney function was already down to 43% and I was diagnosed with FSGS (focal segmental glomerular sclerosis). My matric year was spent in and out of the hospital, facing countless tests and complications. At one point, my parents were even told by my doctor that I might not survive the year. This took a huge toll on my mental health, especially not knowing when I would be discharged every time I was admitted. I often felt depressed and overwhelmed, but thankfully, I had an amazing support system in my family.

Despite the setbacks, I pushed through. I often had to write multiple exam papers in a single day after hospital stays just to catch up, but I held onto my dreams.
