About This Campaign

This very unfortunate journey started in September 2022 when the first cancerous melanoma was discovered in the back of my head when I was 24. I was quite new on my Medical Insurance, and very fast they terminated my membership. At the time I joined the medical scheme, I never knew what was going to happen in the future. I had a small mole at the back of my head and as a young man, I was hoping to get it removed one day. Eight months after I joined the medical scheme Drs discovered that this small mole was indeed cancer. The medical aid was terminated as they believed it was a pre-existing medical condition.
I lost the medical team and had to go through state medical facilities, which is in poor condition in South Africa. Soon I was operated in Kalafong hospital. Within a few days the wound got septic, and I had to go to a private hospital for wound assistance.
Week after week I arrived at Steve Biko hospital, waiting to hear the outcome of the surgery. For seven weeks I walked with a 5 cm in diameter hole in my head. From...
