My name is Ricollin. I began drawing at 16, during a time when my family was struggling to survive. My dad’s whole salary barely covered rent, and my mum could no longer work due to her health.

One day in 2017, when we had no food at home, I asked my mum to get me a pencil and paper so I could try drawing at the local beach. That same day, I received my first commission.

That moment changed my life. I realised art could help keep my family afloat. I continued creating with whatever materials I could find, including discarded lipsticks, coffee, and spices, which later became part of my work as a self-taught artist.

My mum recently underwent a life-changing leg amputation due to severe complications from diabetes. Our daily lives and responsibilities have changed completely.

I rely on my art to support my family, but sales have slowed, and we are not able to afford the essentials my mum urgently needs, including medication, medical supplies, and daily care items. We also need to relocate as soon as possible. Our current upstairs rental is not disability-frien...
