In 2022, I purchased bakery equipment to establish the Waks Town Bakery in the Drakenstein area of the Western Cape with the aim of providing affordable bread to families in need. Despite facing challenges with 3 phase electricity installation and municipal approvals, I am determined to open my doors and make a positive impact on our community.

Understanding the financial strain on many working class households, where purchasing bread at R17 per loaf can be burdensome, I aim to make a change. To ensure accessibility and affordability, I plan to sell a loaf of bread at R8, significantly reducing the cost to consumers by R9 per loaf.

With the capacity of my ovens allowing me to produce approximately 1000 loaves per day, I have the potential to make a substantial impact on the community.
