Supporting Andries' Fight for his Future

At just 17 years old, Andries’s life changed in an instant.

After experiencing persistent dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and unexplained weight loss, he was admitted to hospital, where investigations revealed a large mass in his chest. Further testing confirmed an aggressive form of lymphoma that had already spread beyond its original site. He has now begun intensive chemotherapy and faces many months of treatment ahead.

Before cancer interrupted his life, Andries was a Grade 10 learner with big dreams of one day becoming a mechanic. He has a passion for rugby, loves playing the guitar, and is always singing along to his favourite classic country songs. Although he is only 17, those who know him often describe him as an "old soul"—someone with a love for timeless music, a kind heart, and a quiet strength.
