Our beautiful five-year-old daughter was born with Down syndrome and, from the very beginning of her life, she has faced more medical challenges than any child should have to endure.
Children with Down syndrome often have a weaker immune system, making them more vulnerable to infections and viruses. Sadly, this has been our daughter's reality. She has spent much of her young life battling frequent ear, nose and throat infections, recurring tonsillitis, bronchiolitis and chest infections. These illnesses have resulted in regular visits to doctors and specialists, repeated courses of antibiotics, and far too many days feeling unwell instead of simply enjoying being a child.
