Swim for Hope

I'll be doing a Robben Island swim Crossing to Big Bay which measures 7.5km. This will be in what is probably the coldest time of the year. It will be done in just a Speedo, no wetsuit, and I aim to complete the swim in 3hrs30min. The swim will take place between 3 June - 11 June 2023, weather dependent as safety is very important.

I am doing this to raise funds for Tharros Family Care Centre so that they can direct these funds into giving these Little Stars the care and nurturing they need. Some of these children, if not all, will never have a fair opportunity in life, and this is why I'm so passionate about wanting to make a difference in their lives.

It costs R4000 / month to care for one child at Tharros. Manny, whom I'll be swimming for, has been there for four months and will still be there for at least another three months.

My fundraising effort is to cover the cost for the time he has been at Tharros and time he might still be there, which could potentially become longer.
