About This Campaign

Madswimmer, Jean Craven, and a diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds and countries embarked on a daring adventure to achieve the highest swim in the world between April 19th and May 6th, 2024. Inspired by reports from sherpas who spotted a new water body at approximately 7000m above sea level in the Himalayas, the team set out to push the limits of human endurance and raise awareness about climate change.
Previous world records for the highest swim include Lewis Pugh at 5200m above sea level on Mt Everest in 2010, the South African Madswimmer team at 5909m in the Andes Mountains in 2015, and Australian Daniel Bull at 6370m, also in the Andes in 2020. By attempting to swim in this newly claimed highest pool in the Himalayas, the team aimed to showcase the shocking extent of climate change and highlight the shifting landscape of the world's highest water bodies.
