Can you help Mofufutso Art Centre to raise R3000 for their Summer Festival 2023?
My name is Maria Stacey. In my day job I work as a public health consultant. But I also run a small online project called My Future which connects young people with information about opportunities.
I started chatting to a young matric student called Thabang Mokowane from a tiny village in North West called Mofufutso.
What he has done really impressed me. For the past three years, he has been bringing the youth of the area together to nurture their creative talents. He started a project called Mofufutso Art Centre. They do art, poetry, choir, traditional, gumboot and hip hop dancing, and drama. He has about 35 children aged 9 to 20 in his group.
The group has allowed the talents of these young people to blossom, its allowed them to express themselves, encourage each other, and set goals for themselves.
