The Graham Howes NSRI Legacy Ride

In September 2025, the world lost someone incredibly special.

Graham Howes was more than just an immensely talented kiteboarder and extreme sports enthusiast. He was the kind of person who lived for the people around him, never caring much for himself. What mattered most to him was that everyone around him was having a great time. Whether it was out in the ocean, on the beach, or with friends, Graham had a way of bringing people together. He had a way of building a community. Graham was also deeply passionate about mental health awareness. Through his documentary “We Need To Talk”, he helped open conversations around the mental health challenges faced by athletes and people in high-pressure environments. It was a subject he cared deeply about and something he worked hard to bring into the open.

On 7 September 2025, Graham went kitesurfing off Bloubergstrand and never returned.
