We’re back and this time, it means even more.

Last year, The Locals took on the 100Wave Challenge and it turned into something unforgettable. Yes, we surfed 100 waves… but what stayed with us was the energy, the laughter, the way people showed up, and how a simple idea brought a whole crew together for something bigger than ourselves. What started as a challenge became a moment: one filled with purpose, connection, and real impact for the next generation through 9Miles Project.

This year, we’re doing it again but now it’s personal.
We’re taking it on at home, in Muizenberg. This is where we’ve grown up, where we’ve spent endless hours in the water, where community isn’t just a word, it’s lived every day. To stand here and do this for a cause we believe in, alongside people who share that same heart, makes this one even more powerful.

9Miles is transforming lives through creating safe spaces, building futures and walking alongside young people who need it most. And we get to play a small part in that story.
