The Maddy Mouse House

On the 20th July 2022, our lives changed overnight as we woke to the loss of our beloved daughter, sister and best friend. 

Maddy had passed away in an incident of Sudden Unexpected Death in Child or SUDC.  This is the 4th leading cause of death in children aged 1-18 in the UK, yet is the least researched childhood cause of death worldwide.

For 4 years and 10 months, as a family of five, we had lived, laughed, imagined and adventured together.  And through it all, we had loved. The morning that Maddy left us, she also left us something enormous.  Something worth more than wealth and more important than fame.  She left us her treasure box.  And it was filled to the brim with Love.  

So when our grief ebbs and flows, our sadness wells in our eyes and the trauma from the past year threatens to steal the air from our lungs, we remember Maddy's Treasure Box, tucked away in our hearts, and we know that all we need to do is open it and spread her love to those that need it the most.
