Period poverty is what happens when someone cannot afford or access the menstrual products they need when their period comes. The consequences can reach far beyond the absence of sanitary pads.

Amahle experienced heavy menstrual bleeding. Her iron levels became severely depleted, and her fibroid diagnosis came late.
