From the moment we dream of making a difference, a spark ignites a drive to leave an imprint that matters. For some, that spark fades over time. For others, like Shiven Bodasing, it becomes a fire that propels them to extraordinary heights.

Humble Beginnings on Ice

Shiven’s figure skating journey began in February 2020, at the Northgate Ice Rink. He was immediately captivated. But just as the spark had ignited, the world shut down, COVID-19 closed rinks across the country for six long months.

When the ice reopened, he was eager to make up for lost time. Then, disaster struck: He broke his arm in two places.

He first trained under Annika Langa, who taught him his first steps on the ice.

In mid-2023, he took the plunge and the risk and quit his job and life in JHB to pursue his passion in Cape Town. This is where he met his current coach, Vage Evetts.
