Every day in Soshanguve, another call comes in.

A dog abandoned in the streets.

A puppy crying from hunger.

An injured animal with no one else to help.

And every day, Tebogo Maredi answers.

Not because it’s easy.

Not because there is funding waiting.

But because he believes that no animal should suffer alone.

Through the Soshanguve Animal Shelter and Educenter, Tebogo has dedicated his life to rescuing animals that many people have forgotten. Animals who are starving, injured, frightened and simply trying to survive.

But rescue is only the beginning.

Every rescued animal needs food, safety, care and time to heal. Some arrive terrified and broken. Some have never known kindness before.

Yet slowly with patience and compassion, they begin to trust again.

At the same time, the Educenter is helping children in the community learn compassion, responsibility and kindness through their interaction with animals. Because changing the future starts with teaching empathy today.
