On 20 January 2026, our beautiful daughter, Theoné, came into this world. We never imagined that just a few days later our lives would change forever.
After we were discharged from hospital, her jaundice was not identified and treated in time. On the ninth day of her life, our journey through countless medical challenges began.
Since then, Theoné has endured more than any baby should ever have to. She has undergone MRI scans, CT scans, barium swallow studies, and has been admitted to the PICU twice. We are now facing the possibility of complications related to severe jaundice, including kernicterus, hearing loss, vision impairment, and brain injury. She still needs an ABR hearing test, appointments with an ophthalmologist, and ongoing specialist care to understand the full extent of her condition and give her every possible opportunity for the future.
As parents, all we ever wished for was a healthy, happy childhood for our little girl. Nothing prepares you emotionally, physically, or financially for a journey like this.
