Together for Every Tracksuit

Hello, I’m Dawn Kolm. I’m 63 years old, and sewing has been part of my life for over 40 years. For the past 15, I’ve been quietly making clothes for those in need – stitching comfort and care into every piece.

This winter, I’ve decided it’s time to do more – and I’m not doing it alone.

I live in Cleland, Pietermaritzburg, and I’ve joined hands with 14 incredible women – and one wonderful man – friends I’ve known for years. Many of us have shared fabric, swapped patterns, and inspired one another through our Craft Group. Now, we’re combining our passion and purpose in something we’re calling a Tracksuitathon.

Together, our group of 17 from Pietermaritzburg are on a mission to sew as many tracksuits as possible for children who are homeless, vulnerable, or living in deep poverty. Children who face the cold with thin shirts and little else. Children who deserve to feel warm, wo...
