We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a plea for support. Tom and Shaz's beloved son Cody was born on 26 March 2025 with an incredibly rare genetic disorder. To make matters more complicated they were also advised that he has severe cerebral palsy. Since his birth, he has had over 9 operations and has been fighting for his little life in NNICU. For a 6-month-old boy, it shouldn’t be this way. The journey ahead is filled with many uncertainties, but one thing is clear, he will need extensive medical care and support for the foreseeable future even when he returns home.
Cody requires a full-time nurse for the foreseeable future, along with daily physio, occupational and speech therapy. The mounting daily costs (not covered by medical aid) are overwhelming, and they are in desperate need of financial assistance to ensure he receives the best possible care.
