Transforming Lives Behind Bars And Beyond

Gavin grew up in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain. He lost his mother as a child. He fell into addiction, joined prison gangs, and was incarcerated at Pollsmoor for aggravated robbery. By every measure, his story was heading in one direction.

Then it changed. And now Gavin is the person he once needed - standing at the gate, ready to lead other men through the same journey he survived.

Men and women inside Pollsmoor Correctional Facility - many of whom share the same backgrounds, circumstances, and cycles that once defined the lives of our facilitators. Gang exposure. Childhood trauma. Addiction. A system that hardens rather than heals. These people will return to society. The question is whether they return prepared, or whether the cycle continues.

Dr. Phil-Afel Foundation has been formally accepted by Pollsmoor Correctional Facility to implement a life coaching and reintegration programme. The doors are open. We need funding to walk through them. The programme has not started yet - every donation brings us one step closer to launch.
