Turning unused spaces into welcoming places

Not long ago, Lynnwood Pine Forest was the kind of place people had stopped noticing.

Quiet… but not in a peaceful way.
Overgrown. Neglected. Slowly becoming a space people avoided rather than enjoyed.

But we saw something else.
We saw what it could be.

So we started showing up.

With no funding, no backing, and no guarantees - just our own time, energy, and money - we began to restore what had previously been forgotten. Cutting the grass. Clearing litter. Fixing what we could. Week after week, we kept going.

And then we did what some people said would be impossible… we brought people back. 

We created a space where families could gather, children could explore, and strangers could become neighbours by hosting a series of weekly events, we made this once neglected space a place for our community to gather. And that's when my husband and I, the Founders of this initiative, made a conscious decision: every event and activity we hosted would be completely free. No tickets. No barriers. No one left out.
