For as long as I can remember, baseball has been part of who I am. Fourteen years ago, I picked up a glove not knowing that it would shape my discipline, my confidence, and my dreams. Through early mornings, long practices, tough losses, and unforgettable wins, this sport has taught me resilience and belief, especially on the days when it was hardest to keep going.

Today, I have the incredible honour of being part of something bigger than myself: South Africa’s newly formed national ladies baseball team. This team represents years of dedication from women who have fought to grow the sport, often without the recognition or resources it deserves.

We have been given the opportunity to tour the United Kingdom, a chance to compete internationally, represent our country, and show the world what South African women in baseball are capable of. It’s more than just a tour; it’s a moment that could open doors for future generations of girls who dream of stepping onto the field.
