About This Campaign
Water Champions 2024 is a sports and recreation aligned initiative to empower learners from disadvantaged communities that aims to promote:
• Water safety awareness education
• Climate change awareness education
• Drowning prevention
• Learn-to-swim and swimming
• Competitive Olympic Water Sports (Water Polo, Swimming, Canoeing and Canoe Polo)
The initiative is being introduced for the first time in April 2024 in collaboration with Brand South Africa, Play Your Part Programme in the Gauteng province, South Africa. The campaign is launching with primary school learner beneficiaries from disadvantaged backgrounds within the City of Ekurhuleni township and informal settlement communities.
