My name is Delyse Grenfell, and I am 63 years old. I live with cancer — not just survive, but live — every single day.
My journey with cancer began in January 2009, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 46. It was a frightening and life-changing moment, but I faced it head-on and came through it stronger.
In 2013, while on holiday in Mauritius, I suffered a brain aneurysm — completely unexpected and nearly fatal. I was flown back to South Africa and spent 18 days in ICU. I was given just a 35% chance of survival. But once again, I beat the odds and made a full recovery — something I consider nothing short of a miracle.
