Help Keep the Vredefort Dome Clean – Let’s Get Andy’s Bakkie Back on the Road!

If you live in or visit the Vredefort Dome, you’ve probably seen Andy hard at work collecting rubbish from lodges, camps, and homes to keep our beautiful environment clean. Andy runs the Wildlife Conservation Trust, and his dedication has been the backbone of waste removal in the Dome for years.

Unfortunately, Andy’s bakkie has broken down and needs a new engine, which will cost around R40,000. Without it, his work can’t continue. That means residents and lodges will have to haul rubbish to the dump themselves or burn it on site, something that’s bad for both the environment and the safety of our wildlife.

Andy’s efforts have helped protect this special UNESCO World Heritage area from pollution and illegal dumping. Now it’s our turn to help him.
