Who is Wits HPC?
Wits HPC is a student-led group at Wits University, bridging theory and practice in High-Performance Computing (HPC). We offer talks, hackathons, and training, preparing students for CHPC and international competitions while fostering innovation and research.
What is ASC?
The Asia Supercomputer Community (ASC) Student Supercomputer Challenge is the world’s largest supercomputing competition, launched in 2012. It has grown to involve over 10,000 students from 350+ universities worldwide.
The competition consists of two stages: the preliminary stage (online) and the final round. Wits HPC has qualified among the top 25 teams and will compete in the final round at Qinghai University in Xining, China, from May 8-14, 2025.
