Woman 4 Powa

Women 4 POWA is an initiative founded by 7 women, established through a call for action with the IWFSA FASSET Women’s Legacy Programme. This programme is a 3-party relationship between International Women’s Forum South Africa (IWFSA), Finance and Accounting SETA (FASSET) and Duke Corporate Education, designed to nurture and empower aspiring women leaders, targeting to develop and empower 1000 women over 3 years at both a middle management and executive leadership level.

Our initiative was birthed through a concern on the status of education in South Africa. According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) report published in 2023, only 46% of 15 – 19-year-olds are enrolled in education beyond Grade 9 and only 5% in tertiary programs.
