World Champs 2026: PSA Canoe Polo

We are the Paddlesport South Africa Canoe Polo National Squad, heading to the ICF Canoe Polo World Championships in Duisburg, Germany, from 15 to 20 September 2026.

This is the largest squad ever fielded by any African nation in the history of the sport (total cost of tour is approx R1.1 million!). Not by chance, but as the direct result of years of purposeful, grassroots development that is now bearing fruit on the world stage.

Our 24 athletes compete across three national teams, supported by coaches, medical staff and team management - 31 members in total: the Senior Men's Team, the Under-21 Men's Team, and the Under-21 Women's Team - competing as the first U/21 Women's team from Africa ever to appear at a Canoe Polo World Championships.

The total cost of getting our squad to Germany comes to approximately R1.1 million, covering flights, accommodation, food, transport and kit. Our athletes have been contributing monthly deposits since December 2025 to carry as much of this as possible themselves. But before any of that, we need to be able to afford to play. The...
