A little boy came to our programme because he had been labelled “naughty” at school. But as we got to know him, we realised his behaviour was telling the story his heart couldn’t. His mother was trapped in addiction. He didn’t know his father. 

Raised by his grandmother, he longed for simple things many children take for granted: a father to teach him how to ride a bicycle, and a mother who would simply ask how he was.

Behind the behaviour was one heartbreaking question:
“Do I matter?”

Sadly, he is not alone.
Every day, vulnerable children carry invisible wounds from abuse, neglect, abandonment and broken families. Too often, they are labelled instead of understood.
That is why iMatter exists.

Born from my own experiences of feeling unheard and later surviving gender-based violence, iMatter is built on one belief:
