Xtreme For Kids Swimming - Robben Island Crossing 2024

Facing the icy waters of Cape Town in April’24 for their 1st Robben Island crossing is a remarkable effort by Werner van Geer, Jacques Kannemeyer and Andre Kannemeyer from Quicksilver Swimming Club Durbanville. Big Bay Events will be assisting these men to safely cross from Robben Island to Blaauwberg Strand in an effort to raise much needed awareness for Matla A Bana – A voice against child abuse!

It is heartening to see these fathers, who are not only avid swimmers and underwater hockey players but also caring parents, by using their skills to give a voice to deeply traumatized children. Their commitment to raising awareness for those children who are deeply affected by trauma reflects a commendable dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children.
