Hello everyone,

My name is Yonela, a 2nd year medical student at Nelson Mandela University (NMU), originally from Tsolo in the Eastern Cape.

I am a self-funded student currently facing serious financial challenges that threaten my ability to continue my studies. My mother is my only source of support, and despite her best efforts, we are unable to cover the costs of tuition, textbooks, and basic living expenses. Due to a previous qualification, I do not qualify for NSFAS, and my bursary applications have unfortunately not yet been successful.

At this stage, I am also struggling to pay my registration fee, which is due on 28 February 2026. Without settling this fee, I risk being unable to remain registered and continue attending my classes.

I am reaching out for support to help me remain enrolled in medical school and continue my journey to becoming a doctor. Any assistance, whether through a donation or by sharing my story, would mean more than I can express.
