Vision Bucket List for Zoe

 

In September this year we received the devastating news that Zoe has been diagnosed with a progressive eye disease called Stargardts Disease. This is a form of macular dystrophy. 

 

In a nutshell it is a disease where a genetic mutation causes her body to not process Vitamin A properly. It then builds a ‘protein’ called lipofusin which basically sticks to the macula or retina and causes those cells to die. Which affects the light receptors and  central vision becomes dark and blurry. This in turn affects so many things that we do in everyday life and so many of Zoe's passions.
