Zoo Lake Bowls Fire Relief - Help us Rebuild

For decades, Zoo Lake Bowls Club has been a cultural and social anchor in Johannesburg — a place founded in 1934 where bowlers, families, community groups, NGO's, students and many others gather. It is more than a sports club: it is an immediate and extended community facility, offering an affordable, inclusive venue for events of all kinds, a space of inter‑cultural exchange and shared experiences.

On the morning of 1 October 2025, a devastating fire ripped through the clubhouse, destroying much of the building and the renovations already completed toward its grand reopening. The loss is profound — not only of cherished physical space, but of livelihoods, community gathering, and a legacy of belonging. 

We want to rebuild — restore, stronger — so that this special hub can once again host social lawn bowls, live‑sport screenings, weddings, community meetings, youth and cultural programs, meals, laughter, and all the small moments that knit a community together.
