From Fat to Fit to Ironman

From Fat to Fit to Ironman

Personal message

My weight loss is purely done with lots of commitment, daily training and clean eating.  I love my journey and would have never thought that it is possible to follow my dream of one day being able to do the IRONMAN!

Earlier this year I did my first Triathlon and finished with a great time and position, and believe this is something I want to pursue.  I've entered the 94.7 Cycle event (17 Nov) and will do my second Triathlon Sprint in October.  I am so ready and excited for this journey.  I am committed.  My goal is to do the half Ironman next year in Durban and then (hopefully) a year or two after that the Full Ironman.  But to do any of this, I will need a proper bicycle of my own.

It is a humbling experience to I ask for money, but I can't do this on my own.

The ideal bike costs R55 000.  I will add the extra R5000 if the target is made.  If the target is not made, I will buy a bike with the amount of money that I have managed to raise with your help.

Having my own bicycle will make it a bit easier for me to follow my dreams and to train for the Ironman 2021.  I will be able to do the 94.7 race this year as well as a Sprint triathlon in October and the Half Ironman in June 2020.

20 August 2017, weighing 132.8kgs, I decided to begin my journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.  Today, 2 years later, I've lost a total of 55kg and managed to do my first Triathlon!  Earlier this year I did my first Triathlon (with my cheap, old mountain bike - and it nearly killed me).  That is why I need to invest in a good quality bike that I can use for the next 5-10 years.  It is like buying a car!!!  I have found my bike!   I've paid the deposit on it and now need the rest (R50 000) do take it home.
