AfriCAN Authors Awards fundraiser

Personal message

My name is Anthea Ambursley and my age is 42. I live in Fourways. I am supporting local authors that are writing and cannot get their books into Retail stores. We celebrate them yearly and promote their books via our networks.

The funds raised will be used to pay for the venue to host and celebrate ordinary local authors that are sharing their extraordinary stories with others. We believe that stories can heal and give people hope and therefore we celebrate and honour them yearly at the AfriCAN Authors Awards. Self-published and car boot selling authors will never be able to have access to bookstores despite their disadvantage of not having layout capital to pay publishing companies.

Your donation will help to promote local support for local authors, it gives them exposure at the Awards and it also motivates others to write their stories. We as people can connect through our broken stories and we have the power to heal each other's pain.

Our fundraising deadline is the 15th of July 2019 the event is on the 31st July 2019.

*Funds raised will go directly to paying an invoice for venue hire and catering issued by the events company*
