Personal message

Reclaimers play a crucial role in protecting the environment. For the first six weeks of the lockdown they were not permitted to work. Donations to the African Reclaimers Organisation were essential in providing them and their families with food and basic necessities. When South Africa entered phase four on May 1, 2020, they were finally allowed to start working again. But, it will take a long time for companies to start buying large quantities of materials from reclaimers, and as the price of plastic is so low, there is no demand for plastic at all. Reclaimers are still not able to earn enough to feed their families and remain in desperate need of support.

Please consider doing the following to help:

  1. Donate money to support ARO and the 6000+ reclaimers and their families with food and essential supplies during this difficult time. Any amount, however big or small will help.
  2. Share this request with your networks.
