My name is Seleste Woest, 34 and I am from Roodepoort
Our Dad, Autry Coxen, was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. He is a pensioner and does not have a medical aid or the financial means to receive Radiation and Chemotherapy. He is diabetic and has a heart condition that makes the treatment complicated. They cannot operate to remove the tumor in his throat because of the heart condition. He urgently needs to receive chemo and radiation as there is a good chance of recovery if he receives the treatment as soon as possible. If treatment is not received the tumor will grow bigger and spread and he will not be able to breathe as his airway is getting restricted by the day.
Our Dad is one of the most selfless people I have ever known. He is a kind-hearted person and would do anything for anyone that is in need. Even if he gives his last he will do it with love and compassion and an open heart. He never complains and is always positive. Our Dad gave so much to society and we want to give back to him.
The treatment needs to be done ASAP. Every day that goes by the tumor grows more aggressively.
The biggest part of the funds will go for the Radiation and Chemo. One part will be going for the pre and aftercare and all his supplements and medication. further tests like sonars, x-rays etc. will be needed. The rest will cover the doctors and specialists. This will prevent the tumor to grow and the cancer to spread.
This will save his life and prevent him from suffocating. Some tests have already been done and there is still a very good chance that with Urgent treatment he will win this battle.
In order for the whole process to follow through, various procedures, different doctors and institutions will be consulted thus making it difficult to centralize the costs involved. Therefore we will establish a trust where the costs of the respective appointments/procedures will be allocated to.
All invoicing and payments will be posted to keep the transparency within every transaction.
Please follow my Dad's progress here.
*Funds raised will be transferred directly to the relevant medical organisation/practitioner.*
