Big 5 Hike for the Royal Drakensberg Primary

Big 5 Hike for the Royal Drakensberg Primary

Personal message

The Big 5 Hike takes place on the 19th of May, in the beautiful Drakensberg Mountains of KwaZulu-Natal, raising funds for the Royal Drakensberg Primary School.

The monies raised on this hike allows the local community of the eMazizini village an opportunity to send their little people to an independent school from Grade 000 and above, allowing them a stronger chance of achieving their dreams later in life. The struggle in the rural areas of providing a holistic, empowering education is concerning and often times children drop out of the system before starting high school.

The Royal Drakensberg Primary School, founded in 2007, is an independent school, allowing those little people of the area to come through and get a full, happy, empowering education. We all know education is key to all opportunities in life and this is why we are seeking assistance in raising funds and awareness for this small area of our country, to be given a first-class schooling opportunity.

Our family has hiked this hike for the past 4 years and would love to continue in assisting with awareness and fundraising of the school to keep it going! Your donations are appreciated!

Simon, Tracy, Peter, Andrew and Victoria are tackling the Big5Hike in the KZN Drakensberg, to raise funds for the Royal Drakensberg Primary school - an independent, rural school that provides a properly staffed and managed primary education to the children of the surrounding area, especially the under privileged kids of the Amazizi community.
