Personal message

My name is Charne Felix and I live in Bellville.

I was born with a clubfoot, and after encouragement from my husband, I started competing in Para Athletics in 2017. I have been competing in Para Athletics ever since and took what was considered a shaming disability to wonderful advantage.

At my first National Competition, I broke the South African T44 long jump record. I have since broken the African Record for the T44 100m and set the unofficial World Record in the Long Jump (T44). I am a proud brand ambassador to the Steps SA Foundation assisting and empowering many babies born with clubfoot.

I am competing at my first international competition, as a part of pre-requisites and eligibility for team selection at the World Championships in November and inevitably the Paralympics in Tokyo 2020.

I am self-funded at the moment so funds will be used for Flights and Accommodation.
