Claire Climbs for Smiles

Personal message

My name is Claire Bekker and I am a 4th year medical student at the University of the Witwatersrand.

In December, a group of future health professionals aim to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness for the Smile Foundation. In order to complete the climb, I need to raise R50 000 to cover the costs. A minimum of R10 000 of the funds raised will be donated to the Smile Foundation.

The Smile Foundation is a South African non-governmental organisation that performs surgeries on children who suffer from treatable facial deformities (Cleft Lip and Palate), burns, facial paralysis and a range of other conditions. To date, the Smile Foundation has assisted 2500 children.

It would be an honour and privilege to accomplish this challenge and in doing so bring smiles to and change the lives of children in need. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
