CRÈCHE IN PORT ELIZABETH

CRÈCHE IN PORT ELIZABETH

Personal message

Hi everybody!

This project was created by me to support a crèche in a township in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It crèche was founded 2 years ago by Nomawethu, an incredible woman from KZN. Nomawethu grew up in a township herself and had a very difficult childhood.

Her goal was to study after school to ensure a better future for herself and her family. However, she did not have the financial resources to do so, so she did not have the option. After one day sitting down with her aunt, they came up with the idea of founding a crèche in Port Elizabeth.

Through their love for children and education, both decided to open a crèche in the aunt's house. Today, they have more than 40 children in the crèche who look after them and give them food twice a day. However, the only support comes from the local council, which is not enough to provide the children with a better environment.

Our goal is to improve the lives of these children, so that they have a good environment in which they can grow up and become people who themselves can have a positive influence on the situation in the townships.

Nomawethu and her aunt need financial support for food that is given twice a day (porridge, vegetables, eggs, rice, chicken, juice) They also need help with stationery, books, paper, toilet paper, medical kits, mattresses and blankets for the children.

From my side, I thank you for your support!
