My name is Samantha Nortje (29) and I live in Pretoria.
I'm Ms. Deaf South Africa Finalist 2019 and I have always dreamed of supporting and helping the homeless.
I had the honour of meeting so many homeless and destitute at the Da Gama Angels on the 30th of May. This visit made my heart soft to help those in need. I was sad, and happy, all at the same time and so blessed to be part of the team. At the moment I can't offer support all on my own and need some help to help them with basic needs.
There are currently 110 homeless destitute people.
There are families living in cars, containers, and tents and even a few in broken wendy houses and back rooms. There are very few families in flats or houses. These are very poor and destitute folk. They even have elderly people who pay out their entire pensions for a broken, run-down wendy house.
All of these people are in desperate need of food, clothing, toiletries, and warm blankets.
The people at Da Gama Angels have a big dream to start a home and call it House Joshua... This would be to cater solely for Sassa old age pensioners and would be an affordable home where pensioners would receive 3 meals a day. They are also looking at finding another premises to start a community center that will create job opportunities for people.
In the meantime, I would like to use this page to raise funds for their basic immediate needs.
Any and all donations are welcome. You can donate from R50 to R100 or any amount you like.
And you can contact me on Whatsapp (+2774 836 5217) if you want more questions then you are more than welcome. Thank you, Samantha Nortje.
Your donation will be a positive way to help those in need. We know the situation with the economy but a small little bit of help will change lives.
*Funds raised will go directly to the Da Gama Angels account*
