My name is Ilze Gelderblom (35) and I live in Stellenbosch but I am originally from Calitzdorp. I've known Diane since I was 14 years old. My family took her in and since then she has been part of our family.
I am raising funds to help my best friend finish her master's degree by the end of 2019. Diane did her undergraduate degree with the help of NSFAS as she is financially very needy. Unfortunately, NSFAS does not cover second degrees.
The funds will be used to pay off Diane's student account which is currently just under R25 000. I need to reach my target before graduation in December 2019.
Diane is going to change the landscape that is South Africa. She is a phenomenal women and an amazing role model. Next year she will be pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Youth Work. After that she plans on working in the field to make a difference in the lives of the youth. Any contributions will go towards paying of her outstanding debt to Stellenbosch University.
At the age of 30 Diane Coetzee started as a first-year student following a Bachelors Degree in Theology. She obtained her degree first degree within 3 years studying through the DHET Bursary fund NSFAS. In order to obtain her second degree, a Masters in Theology, she needed to do a post Graduate diploma in Theology which she passed with flying colours. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Theology, with Youth Development as a focal area. This year is the last one she has to finish her Masters that she have been funding mostly by herself with the help of the odd bursary. Unfortunately, she had not been able to complete registration as she has yet to pay her registration fee.
I am pleading with you to help Diane get her Master’s Degree. She is currently still a full-time student, working part-time as a student assistant. She does not earn nearly enough to pay off the debt she owes to the University.
I am writing this plea on behalf of someone who is more than my best friend. Someone I consider my kin, my sister. Diane Coetzee has been in my life since I was 14 years old. In the past 21 years, our friendship has surpassed many challenges and our relationship has grown even stronger.
*Funds raised will go directly to Stellenbosch University*
