The Eddie Manyepwa Campaign

Personal message

Eddie Manyepwa selflessly supports an entire family by creating the most incredible art made from beads and scrap metals. In 2019 my wife and I were driving down one of the busy roads in Johannesburg when our eye caught sight of Eddie's work. We turned the car around and stopped at his corner side "shop" - needless to say, we drove home, a car filled with the most beautiful art pieces.

Later on, we called Eddie and asked if it would be possible for him to assist us with the tent cards we required for our event in March 2020 - without hesitation, Eddie created the most incredible tented cards for us.

As you all know, COVID-19 got the better of our industry and we were forced to cancel this event. In saying this, Eddie would have formed part of our event by displaying and selling his works to our attendees (all 1700 of them). This never happened! Eddie informed us that he had recently found out he has testicular cancer and requires an urgent operation. He was relying on the money generated from our event to assist with this cost.

We, as The Collaborative Exchange, have put down the initial R15 000.00 and are now reaching out to our close communities in hopes of generating the additional R45 000.00 required to change this man's life.

Funds will be used to cover all of Eddie's necessary medical expenses to undergo and recover from the surgery.
